This is an easy walk into the hills behind Almuñécar and there are good views over the sea above Taramay. This walk is 13km long and takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
This circular walk starts at Almuñécar sports stadium. We cross the Río Verde and then up and around the Cerro del Saucillo and back around the Loma del Gato. We then walk along part of the Río Verde before joining up with the Cañada Real de Málaga a Motril. BTW. Loma means "Broad topped hill" in Spanish. The best place to go for a beer afterwards is the Templo bar opposite the sports stadium. If that is closed there is another bar next to it and if all else fails there is a bar opposite Lidl.
